AMB TRANSPONDER - PRICE INCREASE

Several of the ORCI tracks have already given notice of the price increase regarding AMB Transponders. This is due to the strength of the Euro against the pound and a substantial increase in unit cost. Spedeworth Int have announced the new cost to be £220 plus p&p.  Priced may vary but expect to be paying more.

FESTIVAL OF MOTORSPORT 2008

This years BARC south east festival of motorsport is set to be held on Saturday 6th September at Lydden Hill.   Joining the many other forms of motorsport will be the short circuit formulas, this year’s meeting will include an Open class for Outlaw Hot Rods.

Hopefully the drivers from Arena Essex will be joined by some Central Hot Rod drivers and may be other regions.

The person to contact for bookings is (as usual) Ron Coventry on 01268 412299 for what promises to be a highly entertaining meeting.

0802.jpg The new Rob Dance Peugeot 206cc had its first public showing at the 2008 Autosport International show at the NEC in Birmingham. Also on show was a new car for Kym Weaver's 2008 season.

In the Live Action Arena the 2 Litre Hot Rods saw the return to racing for Jemma Dendy who was joined on the grid with Kenny Coleman, Mark Paffey, Scott Bourne, Carl Pye, Mark Cooper and behind a field of about 5 National Hot Rods. Wins in the 2 Litre class on the Sunday went to Coleman, Dendy and Bourne.

The Superstox guys also turned out with some very impressive machines !

A brand new sponsorship partnership was launched in mid-December, aimed at significantly enhancing the profile of Millers Oils through the short oval motor racing community.
Following a series of productive negotiations with short oval racing representative Paul Brown and Stephen Parker of Millers Oils, the sponsorship partnership will see Millers Oils become the Official Oil & Fuel Treatment of BriSCA F2 and Saloon Stock Cars for 2008 and 2009, in addition to becoming the Official Oil of the Oval Racing Council International (ORCi) for 2008 and 2009.
In the year ahead, the name of Millers Oils will enjoy high profile exposure within the short oval racing community, by way of decals displayed on race cars and adverts in publications throughout the sport, and with BriSCA F2 and the ORCi helping to encourage retail supplies of Millers Oils at race meetings throughout the UK.

Accordingly, this will then introduce Millers Oils to a whole range of potential new customers. From a technical point of view, Millers Oils will continue to oversee random fuel sampling within short oval racing.
The launch, which took place at Millers Oils in Brighouse, West Yorkshire on the 14th December, featured the BriSCA F2 Stock Car of Huddersfield’s James Thackra and the National Hotrod of Crewe’s Carlos Perez
